Privacy Policy

Your weight & Apple Health

With your permission, Weight Grid reads and writes Weight records in Apple Health, including their dates and times. These records power your grid, charts and progress calculations on your device. We do not upload your weight readings to a Weight Grid server or send the numeric readings to our analytics or subscription providers. Apple Health sync and backup depend on your Apple settings.

Data saved on your device

Your goals and goal history (including starting and target weights), onboarding answers, units, appearance, reminder time and Pro status are saved on your device. Older weight entries may also be stored locally until they are moved into Apple Health. Weight Grid does not require an account or provide its own cloud backup. Device backups may retain app data according to your system settings.

Usage analytics · PostHog

We use PostHog to collect usage and analytics data so we can understand which features work well and investigate errors. We do not send your name, email address or numeric weight readings to PostHog. When analytics is enabled, it receives app opens, screen visits, settings changes, paywall interactions and some error details. Events also include entry dates, goal target dates, units, reminder times, permission status and your onboarding answers about goals, motivation and challenges.

This data is linked to a generated installation identifier rather than a Weight Grid account. PostHog uses it to connect activity from the same installation, along with app and device information, so the data is not fully anonymous. PostHog also uses your connection IP address to estimate your location, including country. Automatic touch capture, session replay, surveys, automatic error capture, feature flags and remote configuration are disabled. Our default analytics endpoint is in the United States. There is currently no analytics opt-out switch in the app.

Subscriptions · Superwall & Apple

Superwall presents Pro offers and helps manage subscription access. It processes installation identifiers, device and app information, paywall activity and purchase or subscription status. Apple processes App Store payments and keeps the payment details; Weight Grid does not receive your card number. We do not send your weight readings or goal weights to Superwall.

App updates · Expo

Expo delivers app updates. Update requests include technical information such as the platform, app runtime and installed update identifiers. As with other online services used by the app, the service receives your IP address when your device connects. Weight records and goal weights are not part of update requests.

Reminders & support

Daily weigh-in reminders are scheduled locally on your device with your permission. We do not run a remote push-notification service for these reminders.

If you email the developer, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include, and use it to respond. Email is handled through Apple iCloud Mail and your email provider. Please only include health information if it is needed for your question.

Your choices & deleting data

You can change Weight Grid’s Weight permissions in Apple Health and turn notifications off in iOS Settings. Removing Health access stops the app from reading or writing those records and prevents normal weight tracking.

Manage or delete weight records in Apple Health. Deleting Weight Grid removes its local app data, but does not automatically delete Apple Health records, device backups, previously sent analytics or purchase records. Deleting the app also does not cancel a subscription; manage that through your Apple account.

Service providers may retain records under their own retention policies or legal requirements; we do not promise a fixed deletion period.

Sharing & policy changes

Weight Grid has no advertising SDK and does not sell your health data. The services listed here help operate and improve the app and may process information outside your country under their own privacy terms. This page describes the current app; we will update it when our data practices change and show the revision date above.

This website is hosted by Vercel. It does not include advertising, analytics scripts, tracking cookies, or forms. Vercel processes connection information, such as your IP address and requested page, to deliver and secure the website. See Vercel’s Privacy Notice.

Privacy requests

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of personal information, object to processing, or complain to your local data protection authority. Contact us to make a request. We may need information to verify and locate records associated with your installation; we cannot identify those records from an email address alone.
